How to Apply TK44 Undercoating
START BY APPLYING TK44 UNDERCOATING TO A CLEAN SURFACE
Clean Car, Truck, Automobile
- Surfaces to be treated must be clean, dry, rust, dust-and grease free.
- New vehicles; wash undercarriage with a degreaser to ensure no oils, grease, release agents, etc. are left from the assembly process.
- Used vehicles; should be thoroughly cleaned to remove mud, sand, salt and road grime.
- Use a power washer and top quality degreaser for the best results.
- Let vehicle dry before application.
Spray Undercoating
- Shake before use.
- Product can be applied by light airless equipment, but also by an air mix pistol with an air-pressure of 3-6 bar / 45 to 90 psi.
- Optimum spraying distance is about 1 foot.
- Depending on the application, the product can be thinned using mineral spirits or white spirits.
- Spray the surface with undercoating until the desired layer thickness is reached.
- If thicker layers are wanted, it is recommended to dry the layers in between.
- Overspray, or equipment contaminated with overspray, must be cleaned while still wet with mineral spirits or white spirits.
- Keep in mind that the wheel wells are exposed to abrasion from rocks, sand, salt, etc. and may need a thicker coat than the undercarriage.
- If thicker layers are needed, allow a 3 hour flash off between layer applications.
Drying Times
- Do not force dry
